Maria’s Fabulous Biscuits

These delicious light and fluffy biscuits are my go to for a gluten free southern style biscuit.  Served warm or cold they are the perfect complement for our Crispy Fried Chicken Dinner!

Maria's Fabulous Biscuits

  • Servings: 1 dozen biscuits

1 1/2 cups super fine rice flour
1/2 cup glutinous rice flour
2 eggs
2/3 cups milk (A2 protein, lactose free, rice milk etc)
1 1/4 cups butter replacement (I like Nuttelex Original)
3 tbsp ground psyllium husk
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
4 tsp gluten/corn free baking powder
1/2 tsp salt


  1. Mix together dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add butter replacement and mix until mixture resembles course crumbs.
  3. Mix together milk, eggs, and vinegar and slowly add to the dough.
  4. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius/ 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Scoop biscuits into a square 9×9 in baking tray line with baking paper.
  6. IMPORTANT: Let sit for 20 minutes then put in preheated oven for 20-30 min.
  7. Let biscuits cool in tray for 10 minutes, before trying to remove from baking pan.
